Ali Ibanez - A Paralympian Medalist with Murray roots

We had a great privilege of attending the ceremony at Murray Park today to recognize Ali Ibanez, the Bronze Medalist at the 2020 Paralympic Games. Ali earned her medal in Wheelchair Basketball with the USA Paralympic Team.

Ali was born in Murray and attended Cottonwood High. This year, she will be a senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign studying Graphic Design.

Ali spoke about how tough and competitive the Paralympic games are. She mentioned that people sometimes have the misconception that they are not serious and are just a participatory sport. I think Ali is a great ambassador for the Paralympic Games and Murray should be thrilled to share a small part of her story.

We are proud of you and the entire USA Paralympic Team! Go Ali! We hope to see you in the 2024 Games!
